Brushing wet hair?
yes it is.. your hair is most fragile when it is wet so it breaks much more easily while it is wet... what I do (I also have thick curly hair) when I am in the shower and have my conditioner in my hair I run a large tooth comb through it before i rinse out the conditioner... it helps to let the comb pass through without breaking the hair as much

when you brush wet hair you rip it and it makes it damaged more..thats why if you use a special comb for wet hair yo uwill get less damage and less breakage.

It makes your hair have split ends. Try to find a smaller toothed comb. And gently start at the bottom and comb out the knots! Hope I helped

I think the theory behind that is using boar's hair style brushes will tear your hair up as the hair goes through the bristles when the hair is wet. if you use the kind of brush that has little plastic balls on the ends of the bristles, you should be fine.

USUALLY THE BRUSH WILL TEAR YOUR HAIR SHAFT MORE EASILY THAN THE COMB. USE SOME CONDITIONER ON YOUR HAIR AND A BIG COMB. THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEM.

Ive heard brushing wet hair causes excess breakage. I have thick wavy hair also. I just use tons of conditioner %26amp;/or Aussie leave-in conditioner, it works well.

You do what you want. People aren't always right. If you have been brushing your hair while it is wet and it didn't do anything to your hair. Don't listen to what people say because you can be doing the right thing. You should keep what your doing because I was always told that if I would comb my hair when it is wet my hair would get straight but I like my hair wavy/curly. So do what you want. Hope I answered your question!

When your hair is wet it is weaker than when it is dry. Brushing hair when it is wet can cause breakage. Brushes pull on the hair more than combs do, and thus potentially cause more breakage.
Make sure you are using a wide tooth comb. There should be a space at least and 1/8 of and inch to a 1/4 of an inch between each of the bristles. Work the comb through in sections, and make sure you start from the ends and work your way up. If you are still having problems, try using a spray or cream leave in conditoner. It will help the hair slide and the tangles will work out more easily. Also, when you towel dry, press don't rub. Rubbing the towel over your hair can cause more tangles.
The most important things are the WIDE tooth comb, and starting from the ends and working your way up. Comb out the bottom 2 or three inches of one section, and then move up another 2 or 3 inches until you get to the top.

Hair is the most brittle when wet, making it easy to break.

hair is more fragile when i's wet so to use a brush may cause you hair to break more.
If i were you I'd use a wide tooth comb for your wet hair, it doesn't take too much of your hair out.

wide tooth comb or brush..and brush it from the ends to the top little by little.

I have that problem too! I just brush my hair anyways! It's better to have untangled hair when I wake up in the morning!

NEVER, EVER, BRUSH WET HAIR!! This Will Cause A Lot Of Damage(Even If You Can't See It Right Away) Wet Hair Can Get "Over-Stretched" And Damaged Inside The Shaft, Resulting In Breakage Later. And Terrible Splits (See The End Of A Frayed Rope And You'll Know What I Mean) Use A Good Detangler And A Wide-Tooth Comb, START AT THE ENDS And Gently, Work Your Way Up.

dont worry i hav the exact same problem. brushing your hair wen its wet damages your hair. combing it doesnt. quite frankly i dont no y but ya combing it is better for you. but i mean if you blow dry your hair then theres nothing you cn do about it. but if you let it air dry then comb it. then use a straightener to straighten your hair. but to protect your hair from the heat of the blow dryer and flat iron go to sally hansen and get an ion spray that protects your hair from the heat and its anti- friz
GOOD LUCK!!!

I heard from a hairdresser you should never brush wet hair. It causes split ends.
