Well, the only two methods I know without products aren't good for your hair if you do it too often, but:
Method 1: After you get out of the shower, towel dry your hair. Using a blowdryer with a diffuser or better yet, an ionic blowdryer, blow dry your hair with your head upside down. Tousle your hair as you do it.
Method 2: Backcombing. You know those 50's/60's beehive hairdo's, like in 'Hairspray?' Well, that's how they're acheived. Take the group of hair you want to thicken or volumize. Comb it backwards. Smooth it so it's not to tangly looking. But realize that this look is made by making tons of teeny tangles in your hair. Don't do it too often!
Method 3: This one isn't bad for your hair, but it doesn't last as long. Flip your head upside down, and brush your hair. Flip your head right side up and shake it a little. If you don't have time to brush, flip it down then back up real quick. Hope I helped!
