Best Dog brush?

I have a beagle terrier mix, and she hates the slicker I have! What would you suggest for her, especially to remove the shedding hair? Does that new "Shed-Ender" work? Is it sharp???

Thanks for the help!

Yes I recommend the shed-ender also! It does use the same technology as real Groomers, becasue I am one. I've used undercoat rakes, shedding blades, and plenty of slicker brushes and even a dematting rake. But forget the TV commercial... I found it at Bath and Body Works for $9.99 and I love it! What kind of coat does your dog have? Is it short and smooth like a beagle's? Or wiry like a terriers? I may not recommend the shed-ender for your dog then because it may scrape the skin and cause irritation and flakies. I got one and I can't use it on My Rhodesian Ridgebacks as they have short and smooth coats. So I use it on my parents dog, a Lab\Rottie mix. She sheds a lot and I when get her with it her coat is shiny and shed free! She hated those slicker brushes and the shed-ender isn't sharp. It basically is a #40 inch blade on a handle. The old way I use to do it was with the #40 blade on dogs who shedded a lot. Its called "Carding" to reduce shedding in Groomers terms. But gripping the tiny end of the blade was tough and painful on my hands and wrists. It does take a lot of work to brush out a shedding dog but its worth it. I've timed myself and spent about 15 minutes brushing my parents dog. Thats about how long it takes to slow down the shedding on a dog, and do a really thorough job. Since I can't use the shed-ender on my dogs, I recommend the Zoom Groom by Kong. It creates a static electricity like magnet and the hair just rubs off! My dogs love the way it feels and look forward to their weekly brushing. I simply just apply a little pressure with the brush to their coat and rub away back and forth until I get the hair to almost stop coming off. Then they don't shed for a while! Its awesome! You can find it at most pet stores. I posted a link below.

Hey sweets thats cool u found one on e-bay. They have everything and then some....I'll be sure to check there soon for another one as my current one is looking a little used. The little pointy rubber thingys tend to get worn down, and it just doesn't work the same. Report It

We have the shed-ender and we swear by it! It's not sharp at all, not like a slicker where the little wires rake across their skin. The Shed-Ender is best for dogs with an undercoat. We love this thing and the dogs don't mind it as much as the slicker. We think its worth the money.

The sleeking brush is the best for her breed but if you are looking for something a bit less irritable the sheddin rake is the next best thing. It has one row of plastic or metal prongs that surprisingly grab a lot of hair.

Shed ender works very well. I dont recomend the rake because it will scratch her skin.
