I brush it regularly, use a good conditioner, and deep condition twice a month. yet it gets matted underneath in the back (against my back/clothes) and yet remains straight and combed on the top. how can i avoid these mats underneath? I have tried to get it thinned but that doesn't help either.
My hair is thick, shoulder length and when i wear it down it gets knots underneath in the back. suggestions?
I have thick hair 2, what you need to do is have a hair care regimen that works for people who like to keep long hair. http://www.haircareguide.com/long.htm this shoudl help, you can use hot oil treatements containing jojoba oil, and when you do brush, use a boar bristle brush. Hopefully this will work for you, as doing these steps daily hugely helped my hair's condition.
